Leagues

At FantasyFooty.net.au, we allow you to choose between creating a public or private league and allow you to specify the number of teams who will participate in your league (2, 4, 6, 8, 12 or 16 teams).

In addition to having your own player draft, your league will have its own fixture, each round your team will go head-to-head with another team in your league with the winner earning four premiership points - just like the real thing!

Your league has its own ladder, where you are ranked based on your win/loss record, a private discussion forum and polls.

You can create or join, and coach in any number of private or public leagues with your single user account.

There is a distinct difference between creating or joining a private or a public league:

Private League

If you create a private league, you become the league commissioner wielding all sorts of power such as choosing how many teams will battle it out in your league, choosing a finals series, inviting others to join your league, creating polls, posting commissioner news and much more.

Entry to private leagues can be by password or invitation only:

  • Password - Any user with the password will be able to join the league
  • Invitation Only - Only those users who have received a personal email invitation will be able to join the league

Public League

So you don't want to join an existing private league and you don't want to create your own? Join a public league!

Creating or joining a public league will pit you against 1-15 other coaches (depending on league size).

Be warned however because public leagues are not the best way to play fantasy footy because you have no idea who you are playing against. Often several members of the league will not participate in the draft and/or regular season and thus ruin the experience for the others. However there are also many cases in which all members participate and have an enjoyable season.

Fixture

The league fixture incorporating head-to-head matches get under way from round 1 assuming you and your friends are organised and your draft is completed before the round1 deadline.

Missed the round 1 deadline? No worries, your season will commence from the very next round following the completion of your draft.

Finals

FantasyFooty.net.au provides a choice of finals systems. It's up to the league commissioner to choose the finals system that your league will follow. Depending on the finals system chosen, the finals series is typically battled out over rounds 19-22 of the AFL Premiership Season.
